I am a mother of 3 wonderful children, married to my husband Carlton for nearly 20 years. We have made Maple Grove our home for that entire time and our children have exclusively attended Osseo public schools.
I grew up in Lakeville, the daughter of two public school teachers. My dad not only taught but coached high school boys and girls tennis and Nordic skiing. My mom and dad taught me the importance of treating every person with kindness and respect, and that every person – no matter his/her appearance or beliefs – matters in the eyes of God.
After graduating from Lakeville High School I went on to the University of Wisconsin (Madison) where I studied Psychology, earning a BA. During my time there, I volunteered as a counselor with women and children at a domestic violence shelter. After graduation, I moved back to the Twin Cities area and pursued a career in sales for several years. It was a joy to also be able to volunteer at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.
With the birth of our oldest child, I made a decision to take care of her full time at home – a choice I’ve been thankful that I was fortunate enough to be able to make. In these past 15+ years, I’ve also had the chance to volunteer in several fulfilling roles in our community.
Throughout my life, I have enjoyed helping others achieve. I believe that we can come together as a community and help Osseo school district become a district of choice in our area!
